As much as I look forward to this day, I’m always amazed when the day actually arrives because it seems like just yesterday October 1st began. How is it already Halloween?? Of course when you’re a kid, time seems to drag on and on…but once you’re older, time moves so fast.
Halloween still excites me as an adult. I know some people either still really enjoy and look forward to Halloween, or they hate it and think it’s a day for kids. While it is a day for kids to get dressed up in their costumes and go door to door trick or treating, I think adults can still celebrate the magic of Halloween. It sounds kinda cheesy, but for me, I’ve always looked at Halloween as a magical fun holiday if you will. While I don’t go out trick or treating of course, nor do my husband and I have little ones to take out, I love a night of scary movies and handing out candy. I love seeing the neighborhood kids in their costumes and seeing how excited they are. That used to be me at that age and I remember how I couldn’t wait for this day/ night to come.
I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t go to any haunted houses or pumpkin patches this year. No fun hayrides, either. We planned on doing all those fun things this year, but it never worked out and now it’s already Halloween!!
What are some of your Halloween memories? Any plans for tonight? Did you dress up this year, or do you have kids that are dressing up? Let me know.
Hope you’re all safe tonight and have a Happy Halloween!! 🎃👻🎃👻

Lately I’ve been loving chrome nails. I’m probably a little late on this trend, but you must understand how hard it is for me to give up my glitter designs. I am so obsessed with glitter and sparkling. (Just ask anyone that knows me)
I. need. my. glitter. I’ve been toying with the idea of chrome nails for a little while now. They’re literally all over the place if you take a look on Instagram. You’ve probably even seen some of your favorite Youtubers rocking them.
The processs of applying chrome was super easy! I don’t know what I expected… maybe something very difficult and time consuming? It was neither. Simply a polish and the chrome powder on top that was brushed on. One. Two. Three. That easy!
I have to admit, I’m pretty obsessed with these nails right now. They pick up different colors in certain light or with different movement. I always get a lot of compliments on my nails, I can just imagine how many I’ll get with these.
I don’t know why I waited so long to try chrome nails- (because glitter owns my soul) but I feel like I’ve been missing out… love love love!
If you’re in the RI or MA area and looking for high quality nails check out Harmony Nail Studio at 2914 Post Rd, Warwick, RI. You can also check out @Amygelz on Instagram or @Harmonynailsri always the best service and quality.
I tried including a video to show the color change but it failed to upload. I might have it up on my Instagram- @ThattgirlJenn if you’re interested in seeing.
Have you tried chrome nails before? Did you like them? What types of nail designs do you like? Let me know.

Sephora or Ulta? Both stores are a makeup lovers dream. Wall to wall makeup products? Yes, please! Sephora has always been my go to. My store of choice and one I make (on a good day) multiple trips to buy, sample, or just browse through all the makeup goodies. I’ve always looked at Sephora as the more upscale and prestigious of the two. You won’t find drugstore items sold here, as you would at Ulta. When it comes between the two stores, personally, I think Sephora wins hands down in just the appearance of the stores alone. Not to say that Ulta stores are bad or look terrible, because all of the ones I’ve been in have always been very neat and clean and look presentable. I just don’t necessarily care for the plain appearance of it or general layout. (especially if we’re putting it beside Sephora) Continue reading
When you want to try Starbucks new Frappula frapp, expecting it to look like the picture on the left, but getting the pic on the right instead. I placed a mobile order and when I went in to get it, it wasn’t even ready. The girl making it had no clue what this drink even was and ended up making me something with a coffee base and drizzling in caramel sauce for the first try… this was the second try…. and it tasted horrible! I ended up throwing it away because honestly it just seemed like she tossed in a little bit of this and that. Whatever combo she came up with was not good!
This clearly isn’t a huge deal at all. A little annoying, yes. A waste of money, definitely. I only wanted to try the drink because I liked the way it looked in the picture. I would have even overlooked the fact that the drink looked nothing like the pic Starbucks posted, if the drink actually was good. I’ve had plenty of things (food, drinks, etc) that looked completely different (some looking completely like shit) than the promo pic, but the taste was perfect. In the end, that’s what matters. Sure I want it to look pretty like the picture since that’s what is persuading me to buy it in the first place… but whatever.
I didn’t want Starbucks anyway today lol. I’d consider it a win for me if I wasn’t out $5.30. Note to self- next time just pass on any Starbucks 4 day limited edition drinks.
Natasha Denona is launching her Star Palette this Friday, October, 28th and I’ll admit, I’m intrigued. I’m a big fan of warm shades as well as cool shades and this palette offers both. I’m very much attracted to these colors- especially the chrome and metallics. So much yes!! I love chrome and metallic eyeshadows a lot. I love matte shades, but if you know me and my style, I’m all about glitter and sparkling like a disco ball. The more blinding the better, I say. Continue reading
Who doesn’t love Target, right? I can’t be the only one who needs to buy one or two items going in… and somehow finds themselves wandering the aisles, picking up a million and one other things. Things I don’t really need, but it’s cute, or I’ll find some use for it. (I mean, that’s the talk I have with myself in my head) This isn’t just a once and a while kinda thing either. No, this happens every time I step into that evil, wonderful store. I walk through that store in some kind of trance and come out with a cart full of stuff thinking, “Wtf did you just buy?” Lol anyone else? Or am I alone in my shopping addiction? Continue reading
This was a brand I first heard about while on Instagram one night. I saw a picture (Ourfazinali) posted wearing the shade ‘Beach Glow’ and I was in love with the color! I’ve really become obsessed with peachy gold tones and it looked so phenomenal on her! The color was everything I was looking for and I just had to have it. I had never heard of Micki Song Cosmetics before I saw her post, but I needed this color and I trusted her opinion that they were a good company. Her site was easy to navigate and I ordered ‘Beach Glow’ (of course) and decided to try another shade… it was pretty hard to narrow it down to just one more because she had a lot of other stunning shades I absolutely wanted to just toss in my cart and check out lol. Since it was my first time ordering and I was unsure if I’d like the products, I wanted to stick with only two. The other shade I chose was another summer shade called, ‘Sun Kissed’ – oh, and did I mention these lippies are only $12? Continue reading
I have many Colourpop liquid lipsticks in my collection so narrowing down just six of them was a little difficult. I originally was going to do my top favorite five, but five turned into six… and as I kept going through my collection I knew six would lead to seven, and so on and so forth. I guess we’ll consider this my top six favorites at the moment. These six colors are ones that I find myself wearing a lot. I have three ultra satin finishes and three ultra matte finishes. I personally love matte lips, but I find satin lip finishes to be just as beautiful and find myself wearing that type of finish more and more often. Continue reading
If you’ve been reading my blog, you know I love makeup. Love! I’ve loved makeup since I was a little girl. It’s what I love to spend my money on, look at, play with, you name it. It makes me happy. Life can be hard and I’m all for finding what makes you happy and doing it… but I also have a love for candles. I love scents and I love good smells. As with makeup, I love good quality candles that perform well and have lots of scent. Also, as with makeup, I tend to be a sucker for good packaging. I will say I don’t usually buy candles solely just on looks or packaging alone. I mean, that’s definitely a plus in my book if the candle is adorable and cute as well as smells fantastic. Of course nowadays you will find all kinds of candles, brands, and a bunch of different scents. Sometimes that can be a little overwhelming and make it hard to choose. I tend to have a certain type of scent I like. I’m more into bakery and gourmand foodie scents as opposed to floral and perfume. A lot of times, I find those type of candles just don’t work well with me and my nose. They can be too overpowering and heavy on the perfume/ cologne and cause me to have a headache. It has to be toned down some with a vanilla note or some other note I enjoy for me to even consider buying it. Continue reading
To buy or not? That’s the question. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know who Kylie Jenner is and that she has her own very successful makeup brand. She started out with her lip kits and has since expanded that to eyeliner, and eyeshadow palettes. This burgundy palette (releasing today at 1 pm pacific time) will be the second one in the collection. The first palette I had no desire to buy, simply because the colors were uninteresting to me and I have many similar colors by other brands. It just seemed kinda blah to me. I heard mixed reviews about that palette as well, saying the shadows weren’t as pigmented or felt “cheap” and we’re not easy to blend. Other reviews said the palette was amazing. Still it wasn’t something I wanted. Continue reading
