Target addiction & online shopping.

img_6210-1Who doesn’t love Target, right? I can’t be the only one who needs to buy one or two items going in… and somehow finds themselves wandering the aisles, picking up a million and one other things. Things I don’t really need, but it’s cute, or I’ll find some use for it. (I mean, that’s the talk I have with myself in my head)  This isn’t just a once and a while kinda thing either. No, this happens every time I step into that evil, wonderful store. I walk through that store in some kind of trance and come out with a cart full of stuff thinking, “Wtf did you just buy?” Lol anyone else? Or am I alone in my shopping addiction?

I have a love hate relationship with online shopping. I love it because it’s convenient and easy. It’s 24 hours so you can buy whatever you want at any time you want, since it’s of course, online. I hate it because I’m impatient. I don’t want to wait (or pay) for shipping. When I buy something I want it right now. I’ve always been impatient and have always been a, “I want what I want, when I want it.” kind of girl. So I dread ordering online just because I know I’ll have to wait for shipping. I’m happy when shipping is fast after placing an order (confirmation of shipping next day fast) and getting my products a couple of days after, but for me, that’s not fast enough. I’d like an option for half an hour to hour delivery service, please. πŸ™‚

Shopping has always been something I loved. In my teen years and young adult years, I basically lived at the mall. It’s always been something that if I was having a bad day, feeling down, or just wanted something to do- I’d shop and buy myself stuff. It brings me happiness. Yes, it’s materialistic, but I like it. I’ve always liked nice things and I usually always have my eye onto the next thing I want.

The holidays are always extra fun because as much as I love shopping for myself, I love shopping for others as well. Plus with the holiday decorations and the excitement in the air, it’s just that much more enjoyable. Though, I will say, I’m not too big on Christmas shopping at the mall and other stores after Thanksgiving. I don’t like crowds, I hate how pushy and rude some people tend to get in the stores, and (as we know) I hate waiting… so super long lines are not for me. I want in and out. I mostly do my shopping online at that time, once the store or mall opens so I can be in and out. A lot of people don’t have manners in general, but holiday shopping brings out the worst in them and I’m definitely not there for that!

Surprisingly I’ve gone (I think the last three years?) shopping on Black Friday. It’s been very limited… My husband and I go at midnight or one am (depending on what time the stores open) he deals with the madness of Best Buy, I opt for Target (I mean I’m there almost daily anyway) Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret (they always have the cutest bags with purchase for Black Friday) and Ulta or Sephora – not for their deals, but because it’s open at that time and surprisingly not many people are in the store. Actually, I guess (and thankfully) luck out at the stores I do go to on that night because not many people are there at those times so it’s always really easy and no hassle. I think that’s why I go. Watch, I say that now… and come this Black Friday it’ll be a madhouse and I’ll have to sit it out. πŸ™‚

Anyone else go crazy shopping at Target, like I do?  Do you shop on Black Friday? Let me know. Thanks for reading! πŸ™‚

  1. Oh Target, me and my sister have a weakness for that store. We went yesterday on the way home and we promised ourselves we wouldn’t buy much. Well we each bought 40 something dollars worth of stuff within fifteen mins, tops. Oh boy. But great post. it’s good to shop and spoil yourself sometimes–chels
