I love blushes! I may even have a slight obsession with buying blushes. (Same goes for liquid lipsticks & regular lipsticks) I love makeup in general, of course, but I notice with makeup I’ll sometimes find myself stuck on one or two things I  gravitate towards buying.. and buying so much of at different times. As of late it’s been blushes and liquid lipsticks. In the past it’s been eyeshadow palettes, mascara, lipgloss, bronzer, you name it. I can’t get enough and I always want more. Trying to explain that to a non makeup lover, or someone who has less enthusiasm about makeup and just wears it on occasion, etc, they don’t “get it” “Why do you need more than one or two blushes, lipsticks, mascaras?” “How can you spend so much money on makeup?” We all have our own thing, mine is makeup (and clothes, sunglasses, and candles.. okay, so I have more than one thing but you get the point.) you should do and buy what makes you happy & makeup is my happiness. Let’s talk fall tv favs.

Fall is  obviously my favorite time of year for many reasons, (if you’d like to read about why you can check out my post here The best time of the year)  and with fall comes new and old fall television shows. I’m a lover of both movies & tv (reality and scripted) so I thought I’d talk about some current shows that are on the old DVR that I’m watching or plan to watch this fall season. Continue reading

Dose Of Colors liquid lipsticks & why I’m not really a fan.

Dose Of Colors is a brand I first heard about from Instagram and Youtube from some of the popular Youtubers I follow. I was curious about this brand because at the time I was hearing so much about them. How great their liquid lipsticks were, how they stayed on all day, how it seemed to be so many people’s “favorite brand,” how you just had to try them because they were so incredible. I eventually caved and in fact, tried them. Initially I was a little disappointed at the color selection on their website. I felt they didn’t have many colors that interested me, or that the ones I was finding were similar to other shades I already owned. Honestly, nothing jumped out at me begging me to buy it… still I wanted to try it because I’m a makeup lover and I like trying new brands, especially ones that are getting a lot of hype about them. As I’ve mentioned before in previous posts, I am a sucker for packaging and I really love the packaging of these liquid lipsticks. The frosty glass containers , silver ring, and white tops really caught my eye. I think Dose Of Colors has some of the best packaging around when it comes to their liquid lipsticks. I personally just think they look really sleek in any makeup collection.  Continue reading

Master Palette by Mario- Anastasia Beverly Hills

imageIf you can only get one palette this year, or having trouble deciding if you should get this palette… GET IT and get it NOW! The Master Palette by Mario is the palette created by the super talented celebrity makeup artist (most known for being Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist) Mario Dedivanovic. This palette is limited edition so once it’s gone, it’s gone for good. It retails at Sephora for $45 for twelve gorgeous shades. There was so much talk about this palette before it was ever released and I knew once I saw it, it was a done deal. The colors screamed my name. I ordered mine the night Anastasia Beverly Hills released it. It was a quick process, no site crashing, no freaking out that it was going to sell out instantly- (okay, there was minor freaking out) delivery was pretty quick as well. I think it shipped the next day or day after and I had it two days after receiving my shipping notification.  Continue reading

The best time of the year

imageFall has always been my favorite time of the year. The hot sticky days of the summer start turning to cool, crisp days and nights. The leaves start changing from the dull green to a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors, from oranges, reds, and yellows. Everything about the fall is magical. Growing up in New England I’ve been fortunate to experience such beauty. I don’t think you can truly experience and enjoy or appreciate the fall foliage until you see it in all its glory that New England offers. I think I’m probably at my happiest once this time of year rolls around. Nothing gets me more ready for this time of year then the sight of pumpkins. Pumpkins make me think of Halloween… and Halloween is one of my favorites! Who doesn’t love a good scary movie while sipping hot chocolate or cider? It’s literally what I look forward to the most- that and apple picking! Okay, hayrides as well.  Continue reading

Becca Cosmetics & Anastasia Beverly Hills

imageAt first glance of the Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Protector Pressed in the limited edition shade ‘Rose Quartz’ I knew I was going to own it. I have two Becca Cosmetics shimmering skin protectors in the colors, ‘Champagne Pop,’ and ‘Pearl’ both of which, I use quite often, both of which, I love. I find the pigmentation with these to be highly pigmented and of good quality. If you’re looking for a stunning bright glow, grab one of these. A little goes a long way!  Continue reading

October nails

Having my nails done has always been something that has been very important to me. I can remember being a teenager and looking through magazines and becoming fixated by the women who wore long, flashy nails. I wanted those nails! When I was younger, I was always a nail biter and my natural nails were short and not aesthetically pleasing by any means. Occasionally, as a teenager, I was able to get my nails done for certain events, concerts, my birthday parties, etc. I was able to have those ‘flashy long nails’ but it was short lived as I wasn’t able to afford the upkeep at that young age. Lorac Mega Pro 3

imageWhen I first heard about this palette coming out, immediately I knew I had to have it! Lorac is a brand that I’m pretty familiar with and a brand that I love. I think the first product I ever tried from them was the ‘Tantalizer lip with benefits’ I can still totally remember how it happened… one night while flipping through the channels on the tv, I ended up on QVC and I saw a woman holding a trio of these lip products. (Literally had heart eyes as I watched her display and swatch them) *side note- who knew QVC sold makeup? At the time I had no idea! Had I been in the dark that whole time?? Maybe I had been living under a rock, but I thought QVC sold appliances and jewelry and that sort of thing. Ahh, the things you learn while being bored one night flipping through the channels. My credit card was probably weeping, but yay for finding more online sites to shop at!! 😀 Continue reading
