Top 5 favorite liquid lipstick brands

Liquid lipstick has become an essential part of my every day makeup look. Whether I’m doing a full face of glam or just quick lashes, blush, and bronzer, I’m usually reaching for a liquid lipstick to finish off the look. Don’t get me wrong, I love good ole regular lipsticks too… but I’d be lying if I said liquid lipsticks weren’t currently my favorites and have been since I tried them. I don’t see myself swaying away from buying or wearing them for quite some time.

  • Kylie Cosmetics-  Whether you love her or hate her, it doesn’t take away from the fact that the girl has some pretty damn good liquid lippies. I’ve said many of times that I personally think they’re some of the best I’ve tried. Her formula is great, excluding Kourt K (I dunno what happened with that, it’s runny and patchy) I love the lightweight feeling it has on your lips. (Sometimes I forget I have anything on) it’s not overly drying, nor is it uncomfortable to wear. When I say this liquid lipstick stays on me all day- it stays on me all day! No matter what! I love that, but I also love how easy it is to remove when I no longer want it on anymore. You don’t have to scrub and scrub until it comes off either. Definitely an A+ in my book!

  • Kat Von D- I don’t know why it took me so long to try these lippies. (Took me long in general to try any Kat Von D products.. now they’re some of my favorites) My favorite color from this brand is ‘Requiem’ it was the first color I tried and instantly I fell in love. It’s a beautiful light lilac with pinkish undertones. It actually shows up slightly more pinkish on me than lilac. The purple is there on me, but I’ve seen other people wearing it and it looks a bit darker on them than it does me. It’s a beautiful color, regardless. I like these liquid lipsticks because much like Kylie’s… these feel lightweight and comfortable. I don’t have any problems with them wearing off quickly… they do stay on all day as well. I love lipsticks that don’t require touch ups, minor ones are fine, but  it’s annoying having to basically reapply fully if the color wears off. No problems with these.

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills- When I first tried these liquid lipsticks I actually didn’t like them. I tried Milkshake and (I forget the other color) but both of them were awful on me (color wise) plus I found the shade milkshake to be too thick on and it crumbled on my lips. It was weird. I returned it and just got my money back. I was disappointed because it seemed everyone loved this brands liquid lippies. I don’t know what made me try them again months later, but I did and had a MUCH better experience than the first time. Since then I’ve gone on to purchase many other ABH lippies (and glosses) and my faaaavorite color at the moment is ‘Allison’ I’ve mentioned this in past blog posts… seriously it’s so amazing!! I’m really glad I gave this brand another try for liquid lippies because they’re a top favorite now! I love the wide range of colors they offer as well.

  • Stila– I like Stila products in general. While they’re not necessarily a top favorite. (Not a brand I  absolutely love and buy all the time) I do like them and love their foiled metal eyeshadows. They do have some great products and I’m a fan of their liquid lipsticks. I don’t think they’re the best liquid lippies(I find them a little bit drying and they don’t last as long as other brands) I like a few colors they have and they do look nice once applied. I just wish they lasted longer on my lips and were not as drying. I still recommend them and included them in my top five because those issues aren’t a super huge problem. Of course you’ll have pros and cons with every company. These stay on my lips, they just wear off quicker than some other brands. Still great!

Colourpop- A cheaper alternative if you’re new to liquid lipsticks and wanting to try them out. They’re $6 so not the most amazing quality, but pretty damn good considering. I love the range of colors they offer and they’re constantly adding new colors all the time. Just like with Kylie, some either really love Colourpop or hate them. I really like them! I think for $6 you can’t go wrong. I was very impressed with the quality of their products. I’m not a big fan of drugstore brands so when I first tried these, I didn’t have high hopes. I was wrong. While I don’t like how runny the formula is, or that some shades wear off easily, I still really love this brand. I’ve mentioned this in a past post, but I’ll say it again… personally, I don’t think Kylie’s lip kits and Colourpop’s are the same at all! At all! I have very different results when I wear both of them. Colourpop’s formula is way more runny, almost watery than Kylie’s is. Plus the performance with Kylie’s blows CP’s out of the water. The lip liners I can see are very similar, the liquid lipsticks? Not at all. This is just my personal observation and opinion. I know there’s a lot of talk about it so I always like to give my take on the whole thing. 🙂

So those are my top 5 fav brands I like. What are some brands you guys enjoy? Funny thing is, I feel like I’m leaving out a brand I love lol… Anyway, let me know what your favorites are. I always love reading what others experiences are like.

Thanks for reading!
