Should I Buy?

photo-dec-03-1-18-13-amFor a while now, I’ve been contemplating about buying a Morphe Palette(s). I go back and forth with putting them in my cart, putting in my payment info, yet I pause just before I can click send. These palettes are pretty inexpensive, so why am I hesitating about ordering one? I’ve done my research. I’ve watched videos on them – not just from the big beauty influencers who are getting paid to give a good review. I’ve looked at pictures, swatches, checked to see what some were saying over on Instagram. For the most part I’ve heard good things about the Morphe palettes, however, I’ve also heard some not so good things. Some claim the eyeshadows are chalky or powdery and feel cheap, not easy to blend, while pigmented, they don’t have the same intensity as they appeared in swatches or looked in the pan. Others claim these palettes are some of their favorites with an affordable price point.

I think it just all comes down to personal preference. I think I’m on the fence because I really just don’t want to waste my money. It’ll either go one of two ways… I’m going to really love the palette, or I’ll hate it.Β

Just from looking at the palettes, the shimmers look pretty nice. That’s what is getting my attention. They look sparkly, vibrant, I’m fantasizing about the many different looks I could create. On the other hand, I’m thinking, how good could these palettes be for the price? They remind me of those cheap palettes that was all the rage a few years ago. The ones you could get off of Ebay? You got like 100 shadows or something crazy for like $20! I bought one back then because I was thinking, how bad could it be? Pretty bad. They looked cheap, felt cheap, and sucked as far as blending and pigmentation goes. If it’s one thing I hate, it’s cheap shadows that perform, well, cheaply. I’m all for saving money where I can, but I want some type of quality and want a good product, otherwise it’s just not worth it to me and I’d rather pay more, if I’m going to get quality. When it comes to shadows, I just won’t compromise with what I like & am used to- good performance and quality. I hate nothing more than trying to work with cheap shadows that are too chalky or powdery, or just vanish once you go to apply them. No. No. No. I wish Morphe sold these palettes in Sephora or Ulta. Somewhere I could swatch them and see for myself how I like them.

Who knows, maybe these palettes work great. Maybe I’ll buy one and kick myself for not purchasing it sooner. If it was as simple as judging by a product from looks alone, I’d already own a few of these.

  • I love the variety these palettes offer
  • I love how many shadows you get in a palette
  • I love that they have a palette for mattes and shimmers only
  • I love how they appear to be so pigmented.. so sparkly!
  • I love how affordable they are
  • They look so gorgeous!

If only it were that easy. These are all just things I’m keeping in mind and I think why I’ve been hesitant on buying. One of these days I may cave and go for it.

The next possible purchase I’m wondering if I should buy comes from Too Faced.

I missed out on the Sweet Peach palette when it was first released and now I’m wondering if I should buy it or not. I like Too Faced. I like their eyeshadows, I own I think two eyeshadow palettes. I have no problems with performance or pigmentation with their shadows… but they’re not my favorite when it comes to shadows. I don’t know why. As I said, I have no problems with the shadows, I just hardly ever find myself reaching for them. When I’m going to create an eye look, I don’t usually think of my Too Faced palettes. I just feel like I own a lot more better shadow options when it comes to palettes? Don’t get me wrong, I think their packaging is soooo adorable! It’s always so fun, girly, different. As I mentioned, I think the quality of their shadows are great. They perform wonderful! I don’t know what it is, maybe they just don’t wow me enough when it comes to the shadows or the selection?

I think I want to get the peach blush and maybe some lippies… as far as the palette goes? I dunno!!! The colors look pretty & you know how I feel about my peach shades! I just don’t know if I’ll use this palette often, or if it will go unused like my other Too Faced palettes. I want to say I’ll use it often… ugh… undecided!!

Are you guys planning on picking anything up from the Peach Collection? Do you already own the Peach Palette? Is this something I NEED! (I do want it) What are your thoughts on the Morphe palettes? Do you like them? Let me know!

Thanks for reading! πŸ™‚

  2. I understand you so well! I have that too. I may have something for months in my basket. Eventually when I decide to buy it, it is already sold out 😦 So the best is if you really-really want it, just go for it πŸ™‚ How much does this palette cost? Is it very expensive?
Another option is to ask as a Christmas present πŸ˜‰

    • That’s the worst when it sells out!! It sucks because then you usually end up waiting forever for it to come back in stock. I usually will buy something right away if I really, really want it… sometimes it’s hard to decide if I should get it or not. The palette is pretty inexpensive. I think with shipping it’s $30. That’s a good idea, asking for it as a Christmas present! I didn’t think of that. Thanks!! 😊

      • Indeed when it’s sold out it takes forever until the product is in stock again 😦 I think $30 is ok to risk it πŸ™‚ Even if you don’t like, I think it is worth trying πŸ™‚

    • Thanks girl! I’ve been going back and forth deciding because I’ve heard so many mixed reviews. I’ll probably try one out just to see, I love the colors a lot! So beautiful! Thanks for your input!! πŸ’•πŸ’œπŸ’•

  4. I agree that some of the colours in Morphe palettes are patchy and so-so but for the price, the amount you get and the variety, I’m happy to pay that. In saying that, if you own Modern Renaissance, or even Kylie or Kat Von D, you may be disappointed. I’ve bought quite a few (and still don’t have the 35O) and love the looks that can be created from one Palette.

    • Thanks for your thoughts! I think I’ll eventually try one at some point. I love hearing everyone’s experiences with them. I do love the variety and all the color options you get from one palette. Thanks again! 😊

  5. Hey, I saw in another post that you had tried out some of the morphed products. Not sure how it went. I do own the 350M pallete and I reach for it the most. I think the shades blend easily and all the colours I’ve tried have been pigmented. I generally stick to warmer toned colours. Especially anything with a red colour (even undertones). All in all I do like it and haven’t found them to be chalky.

    • Hi, yes, now that I’ve tried Morphe’s shadows… I am a big fan! I love how pigmented and long lasting they are. Plus the price is very reasonable for the quantity that you’re getting. I was so hesitant to try them, however, I’m so glad I did. I do love them a lot! Thanks for reading! β˜ΊοΈπŸ™‚
