Candles By Victoria Scent Shots

img_9219Candles By Victoria is a company I’ve been ordering from for a couple of years now. I think I first found them from someone in a candle group, who mentioned how much they loved their candles and wax.

I was instantly drawn to them once I saw their dessert candles! I’m a huge bakery and foodie type scent lover. For a while I was really addicted to realistic dessert candles. I couldn’t find many companies who specialized in those type candles, until I found CBV. Continue reading

Nails Of The Month (January Edition)

facetuneMy nails for this month, going in, I just wanted something simple (ish). Of course I knew I needed glitter, (because glitter is life) I didn’t have or really want any kind of design. So I kept it simple, but still fun and something I’ll enjoy.

Amy, (my nail tech) custom made the pink glitter. She got it to just the right amount and perfect shade I desired. We actually had a good laugh about this because it was more a lavender / purplish shade before she worked her magic. I swear, there is nothing Amy can’t do. She is very skilled in art and designs, she hand paints pretty much everything! I’m always in awe!

700 Followers!! What?!

img_9087I think I hit 700 followers on Friday or Sat and I’m just now having the chance to recognize it. Guys!! 700! I feel like I just made my post for hitting 500 followers right before Christmas!

Many of you know I started my blog back in October and I had no idea what to expect. I certainly didn’t think I’d grow as fast as I have. It amazes me that 700 people have decided to follow me and read my blog, leave likes, comments, just interact with me. I am so thankful and grateful for each of you!

I wanted to start this blog because I wanted my own little space to talk about the things that interest me. Makeup being a huge part! Writing has always played a huge part in my life…so I just wanted someplace where I could speak my mind, share my thoughts, make some new friends & get to know others.

I get asked how my blog has grown so rapidly in such a short amount of time?

Honestly, your guess is as good as mine. I had no idea what I was doing when I started this blog… It took me hours just to figure out how to add links to my page, change the layout, insert pics. Literally had no idea what I was doing. Sometimes I still don’t know what I;m doing! 😉 However, I am a fast learner so it just took a little bit for me to get the hang of it. With that said, I’m still learning and just going with the flow.

The thought always crossed my mind, what if no one reads your blog? How do you get followers or people interested in reading what you’re writing? I had no idea! I still have no idea! Somehow 700 of you lovely, fantastic, followers made your way to my blog and chose to follow me and stick around.

All I can say if you’re looking to get your blog some more exposure, or make new connections try engaging with more blogs. I read a lot of different blogs, I leave comments sometimes, or simply just give a like. A lot of people will find your blog that way and maybe check you out.

Also, don’t be a ghost. Try and get to know some of the blogs you follow. It’s not about how many people follow you as it is finding people you might connect with, or share similar ideas or interest(s) with.

You also want to update and give your followers some quality content often.

Be consistent!

Don’t go weeks or months without posting and leave your followers hanging. They’re following you because they want to read about you or whatever content you post about. I understand life can get busy and sometimes things happen we have no control over. If you’re going to step away for a little bit, give your followers a heads up that you’ll be gone.

Other than that I don’t really have any ideas. I just know that has worked for me so far. Since I get asked often I figured I’d let you know. It’s nothing special or out of the ordinary. I’m just as amazed as some of you, that my blog keeps growing as rapidly as it does.

So in closing, I just want to thank each of you so much! Thank you for finding my blog and deciding you want to follow, thanks for the shares some of my posts get, thanks for all the likes, thanks for the comments, thanks for following me on my other social media pages and connecting with me. THANK YOU!!! You guys are amazing and this little blogging community has been so kind, helpful, and such a pleasant experience so far. I’m so glad I decided to start this blog! I love connecting with so many of you and I’m so grateful

Again, thank you all so much!!!

Feel free to add me on my other social media pages: (Let me know you followed me so I can follow you back)

Morphe Copper Dreams Brush Set – First Impression & Review

imageHello beauties! Well my Morphe brush set finally arrived sometime early last week. If you weren’t aware, I originally ordered for the first time from Morphe when they released their Copper Spice & Bronzed Mocha palettes. There was some kind of mixup on their part and I received the Copper Spice palette I ordered, however, my Copper Dreams brush set was missing. If you haven’t read about it, you can read it here if you’d like : First Time Ordering From Morphe (My Experience) & Copper Spice & Bronzed Mocha Palette

I was excited for this brush set to arrive. For one, I loved the look of this set. From the beautiful copper colored cylindrical tube it came in, to the white base and copper tipped brushes themselves. The look and packaging is what got me. It looks fancy, yet it’s affordable.

Previously, I’d never owned anything from Morphe. (brushes included) I’ve heard many mixed thoughts on their products as well as their brushes. As always, I like to try something out and form my own opinion. What works for someone else might not work for me and vice versa.  Continue reading

Kylie Cosmetics Royal Peach Palette And Why I’m Not Buying

photo-jan-12-5-22-58-amI love Kylie Cosmetics. That’s no secret. If you go through my blog you’ll find some reviews on her lip kits, all of them positive. I’ve stated many times that I love her lip kits and think they’re some of the best, in my opinion. With the exception of ‘Kourt K’ I think her formula is fantastic. I have no issues with performance, longevity, they feel lightweight on my lips, etc. Simply put – I love her lip products and I am a fan of them.

I know when it comes to Kylie and her company, people either really love her and her brand, or really hate her and her brand. The ones who hate her will seem to find any little thing to attack her and her products on. You’ll never satisfy them because in their mind, her products will never be good enough or live up to any expectations because of who she is and their dislike for her. I do like her and her products so my thoughts on this new palette aren’t coming from a “haters” perspective.  Continue reading

Lush Cosmetics Cupcake Face Mask & What I think

imageSo, I’ve recently been really getting into Lush products. I mean, I’ve always liked Lush and would occasionally pop into the store whenever I was at the mall. Of course, they are known for their insanely gorgeous bath bombs. I’d usually go in and that would be the first thing I’d gravitate towards. How could you not?

I never really tried anything from Lush until a few months ago. I’d go in and look, admire the beautiful bath bombs, smell some things, but that was it. I don’t know why I never made a purchase. I just never did.

That’s pretty much changed now. I’m slightly obsessed with finding and wanting to try new products from Lush. It’s probably a combination of how adorable, glittery, girly, everything looks that sparks the interest in me. I also love that they use fresh ingredients.  Continue reading

First Time Ordering From Morphe (My Experience) & Copper Spice & Bronzed Mocha Palette

imageI have been debating ordering from Morphe for quite some time now. If any of you remember, I made a post and touched briefly on wanting to try their palettes, but was hesitant. The colors looked gorgeous to me, swatches I saw looked pigmented and easy to work with, the price was affordable… yet I would hear a lot of negative reviews just as much as I heard really good reviews.

I really wanted to try them! I would often add stuff to my cart and right before I had to click to place my order, I backed out. I did this multiple times. For some reason I was still holding off. I watched tons of Youtube videos on regular (paying customers) who bought palettes and gave their reviews/ opinions. I say, “regular paying customers” because when it comes to a lot of highly popular products, I don’t always trust the big Youtube influencers who are getting paid to give amazing reviews. I want real opinions, ones that aren’t being swayed by a paycheck or some kind of perk. I want the truth, is what it boils down to.  Continue reading

New Year… Same Me

15825954_10158030144400173_6346444737883648717_nIt’s that time of year again when I’ll continue to write (or type) in last years year. No joke I googled 2016 image pics instead of 2017. I sat looking at them for a couple of minutes until it finally clicked… and I’m like, “Oh yeah, we’re in a new year now. It’s 2017… not 16.”

Six days in so far and it feels no different. (I mean, does it really ever?) I’m still a little bummed that Christmas is over. No more excitement.

Some people are so quick to remove all traces of the holidays, literally, the moment Christmas ends. I have friends who take down and toss out their trees before the end of the night is over on Christmas Day! On Christmas Day!

I like to enjoy it a little longer. When I was a kid we’d always take our decorations and stuff down after January 1st. I still do that to this day. My husband and I will… sadly, take everything down probably this weekend.  Continue reading

December Favorites

imageOMG! Guys! Can you believe it’s already January?! How is it a new year already?? Seriously, where did the year go? I feel like I just made the post of last months favorites. One thing is for sure, time goes by too fast.

Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful New Year! Mine was nice. Pretty low-key with my husband. Nothing fancy.

Well now that one of my favorite months has come to an end… (oh how I’ll miss all the Christmas decor, music, activities, etc.) it’s time for another favorites post. Continue reading
