It’s that time of year again when I’ll continue to write (or type) in last years year. No joke I googled 2016 image pics instead of 2017. I sat looking at them for a couple of minutes until it finally clicked… and I’m like, “Oh yeah, we’re in a new year now. It’s 2017… not 16.”
Six days in so far and it feels no different. (I mean, does it really ever?) I’m still a little bummed that Christmas is over. No more excitement.
Some people are so quick to remove all traces of the holidays, literally, the moment Christmas ends. I have friends who take down and toss out their trees before the end of the night is over on Christmas Day! On Christmas Day!
I like to enjoy it a little longer. When I was a kid we’d always take our decorations and stuff down after January 1st. I still do that to this day. My husband and I will… sadly, take everything down probably this weekend.
I don’t make any kind of resolutions. I have goals I’d like to accomplish, however, those are throughout the year, every year. I’ve always been the kind of person who if I want to do something, I do it. I usually do it the moment my mind is made up that I want to do it. I just feel resolutions, for me, aren’t necessary. I’d make them when I was a kid and never accomplished them. I just never felt, for me, personally, that because it was a new year it was time to make certain changes. When I want to make changes I do it at any time. Maybe it’s because I’m impatient, so I want things done quickly and I charge right in. Who knows.
One good thing so far is we haven’t had any major snow as of yet! Watch. Now that I just typed that we’ll have a huge snow storm. It is New England and the weather here is unpredictable… plus this is usually the month for lots of snow. Let’s hope it’ll be a mild one this time around. Snow is pretty and all fun and games… until it’s not. When you have terrible drivers that start acting like they’ve never driven in snow before, or when it’s too messy and icy out that you’d just rather be home in bed. It’s pretty to look at, but that’s about it. With that said, I do love winter! Right after fall, it’s my favorite time of year. I’m just kinda over snow. Bring on all the cold temps! All you need is a warm fire, some hot chocolate, and a good book. 🙂
Do you guys make any resolutions? How have they been going so far? Let me know!
Thanks for reading! 🙂
