I was contacted here on my blog last week to see if I’d be interested in trying out the NuAcquaDerm Microdermabrasion at home kit.
I have never done microdermabrasion before so it wasn’t something I was familiar with. I had heard about it, I knew what it was. I had just never had it done on myself, nor ever used any kind of at home device before.
I was interested and curious to see what this product could do. I don’t have troubled skin, or a lot of acne, or problems. I get the occasional breakout, of course, but I’ve always been pretty fortunate when it comes to my skin. I also try and take good care of it, especially as I get older.
I wanted to love this palette. I really wanted to love this palette. When I first saw pictures of the palette floating around on my Instagram I instantly had heart eyes. I thought the colors in this palette were gorgeous!! Gorgeous!
I was so excited by this palette I *almost* almost ordered this online before it was released in stores. I held off until it was released and I could see it and swatch it in person.
Honestly I don’t even know what I was thinking. The swatches were meh… but still I had to buy this. Once again, I kept thinking… well, maybe I can make this work. Maybe it won’t be so bad when I get it home. Why am I trying to talk myself into buying a palette just because I think the color scheme is pretty?? Continue reading
Hello beauties! Well my Morphe brush set finally arrived sometime early last week. If you weren’t aware, I originally ordered for the first time from Morphe when they released their Copper Spice & Bronzed Mocha palettes. There was some kind of mixup on their part and I received the Copper Spice palette I ordered, however, my Copper Dreams brush set was missing. If you haven’t read about it, you can read it here if you’d like : First Time Ordering From Morphe (My Experience) & Copper Spice & Bronzed Mocha Palette
I was excited for this brush set to arrive. For one, I loved the look of this set. From the beautiful copper colored cylindrical tube it came in, to the white base and copper tipped brushes themselves. The look and packaging is what got me. It looks fancy, yet it’s affordable.
Previously, I’d never owned anything from Morphe. (brushes included) I’ve heard many mixed thoughts on their products as well as their brushes. As always, I like to try something out and form my own opinion. What works for someone else might not work for me and vice versa. Continue reading
If you guys checked out my Ulta Black Friday Post, then you saw I picked these two Tarte lippies up. I’ve been wanting to try Tarte’s liquid lipsticks for a while now. I love Tarte! I have a few of their Amazonian Clay blushes, eyeshadow palette, concealer, and one of my favorite foundations- Tarte’s Rainforest Of The Sea. I’m familiar with this brand and it’s one I really like. I don’t know why it took me until now to finally try their lip products. (Blame it on the abundance of lippies I already own and if I stopped buying lipsticks tomorrow, would last me for a couple of years.) I guess you could say I’ve kinda always had my eye on Tarte’s liquid lipsticks. I’ve wanted to try the color Namaste for a while. I’ve noticed the color on a few girls on Instagram, and from the looks of it, it looked to be a color that was definitely for me. You guys know I love a good nude! Can you ever really have too many nude shades? 😉 Continue reading
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Bath & Body Works candles. I buy them whenever they’re on sale and burn them year round. I’ve been a fan of their candles for about five years now. Are they the perfect candle? Far from it. Do they have wick issues and the occasional non throw issues? Of course. I can get past it enough to continue buying them. Their fall and winter candles are my favorite! If you’re a Bath & Body Works candle fan (and you pay attention), you’ll often find lots of returning repackaged candles that are renamed something different. The candle still smells exactly the same… it’s just a completely different label and title. In some ways that’s a good thing. Say they’ve “discontinued” a candle you really loved, you might get lucky the following season with it returning- just named and repackaged something completely different. For example one of the candles I love currently, ‘Maple Cinnamon Pancakes’ is my favorite candle from a couple of years ago they discontinued- ‘Pumpkin Caramel Latte’ Completely different names, but exact same scent notes in each of them. I was finally able to get my hands on this collection during Kylie’s last restock. The first time she launched this, I was on the site at the exact moment it went live, added it to my cart, was placed in the “waiting area” to pay, only to be told it was “sold out” six minutes later. I was so disappointed! Luckily she decided to do one more restock because apparently that same situation I had happen to me… happened to many others. The next time she restocked, I was still a little anxious it would sell out again and what happened the first time to me would happen again. This time around it was a lot smoother and I think it sold out a couple of hours later. I really hate when products that a company knows are in high demand sell out in minutes. It can be really frustrating as a consumer, especially if it’s an item you’ve had your eye on and just want so badly. Continue reading
I’m kind of picky, or maybe snobby when it comes to mascara. It’s not necessarily the mascara itself, as it is the brush/ mascara wand. I have a certain kind of wand I like using. I need it to be sturdy and not flimsy/ I’m going to flop around, break in your hand kind of wand. Plus I really focus on the size of the wand and how big the bristles are. I like a lot of volume and big, long, dramatic lashes. I like any kind of mascara that is going to give you both. My lashes naturally, unfortunately, are neither. Continue reading
I got an email from Beautylish earlier saying the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips ‘Kim K.W.’ shade was back in stock. It’s their most popular shade (of course seeing as it’s inspired by Kim Kardashian and it’s the perfect nude shade she’s known for wearing.) I heard about this collection back when it first launched…but for whatever reason didn’t really pay that much attention to it. There are literally so many collections that have this and that coming out. Sometimes it gets hard to keep track of everything. For whatever reason, this one kinda slipped on past me. Since getting that email, though, I’ve been reading some reviews and watching some Youtube videos on this collection. I’ve got to be honest… I’m kind of interested in buying a couple of shades. I really have my eye on the nude/ neutral colors rather than the bright shades. I think the bright shades are just as pretty and I’m a big fan of bright lippies, but if I’m planning on trying one or two shades, I’m most likely going for the neutral colors. They’re speaking to me more than the brights.
While I think the colors look spectacular, I’m also drawn to the packaging. (of course) I think the rose gold tube the lipstick comes in, is very elegant and classy looking. It’s definitely eye catching and chic. I just imagine reaching into my handbag to touch up my lipstick and pulling this out, it would just look so fancy. I also really love the lipstick holder the above picture is showing with all the lippies lined up. I’m pretty sure the holder came if you bought all twelve shades on the Charlotte Tilbury site. Personally I think that would look gorgeous added to my makeup collection. 🙂 I’m not interested in buying all twelve shades so I’ll just have to admire it from afar. I think it would be nice if it could be bought separately, but I get the whole marketing aspect of it. ‘Hot Lips’ collection, the holder goes with the collection… still, would be nice.
The packaging is one thing- beautiful! Look at the lipsticks themselves! I love the shape of these lipsticks, apparently they’re shaped this way for the perfect precision when applying. How ideal! As you can imagine, I love the embossed lip print on the bullet. The lipstick definitely looks high end. I think it’s super gorgeous! I feel just carrying one of these around in your purse for an evening would make any girl feel classy and sexy.
The colors I’m most interested in trying would be:
- Kim K.W. – Pale nude beige pink
- Penelope – Nude pink
- Liv It Up – Rosebud pink
- Kidmans Kiss– Rose petal pink
All of the lipstick shades are named after celebrities that Charlotte Tilbury has worked with. They retail at $32.00 and can be purchased from Beautylish & CharlotteTilbury.com
I know this collection came out a while ago. Sometime over the summer, maybe July? I think I’m going to check out a few more reviews and see what others have to say before I decide… but I think this collection really looks pretty amazing. If nothing else, I’d like to add one or two of them to my collection for the elegance alone. I want them to be just as amazing in real life as they look in the pictures.
What do you guys think? Since this collection has been out for a while, have you tried it yet? What do you think of these lipsticks? How do they perform? Let me know!
Thanks for reading! 🙂

By now you’re all aware that I rate Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipsticks as some of my favs. Going as far to say, I think they maybe even my TOP favorite when it comes to liquid lipsticks. I base this on the fact that I love her formula, the longevity of the product, the feeling on my lips, and of course- the final result, the color payout.
As with every company you’re going to have your pros and cons. You can still love a company and their products, but not love every product they come out with. Sometimes formulas are different in each product, or the product itself just doesn’t work well with us, whatever the case, you’re not going to love every single thing a company puts out. While I love Kylie’s lippies, I’m not totally in love with every single one of them. I have my favorites and my not so favorites. I have that with every brand I love. Some colors I adore and can’t get enough of, some colors I shudder at the thought I purchased them in the first place and regret wasting money. That’s life. It’s a chance you take, especially when ordering online and not being able to swatch and see a product in person. I do think that makes it tough and that is one big downside to ordering from Kylie Cosmetics, or other online based beauty companies. You can’t run to Sephora and swatch a color. You have to go by pictures posted by said company or big beauty influencers who in all likelihood are getting paid (or at least some kind of “perk” to promote them) It can really make it difficult.
I’ve had plenty of times where I saw a color that looked amazing on whoever, but when I purchased it, the color looked nothing like it did on me as it did on others I saw. That’s not anyone’s fault, of course, we’re all different so nothing is going to look exactly the same on me as it does someone else. Results vary and that’s normal. So many factors come into play with situations like that. Also, the opposite can be said as well. I’ve had colors I didn’t know if I’d like the color/ look good on me, (I saw other examples of people wearing them and hated it on them) ended up getting that color and it was amazing. You just never know. Basically, I’m just saying it’s a chance you take. Just something to keep in mind.
Liquid lipstick has become an essential part of my every day makeup look. Whether I’m doing a full face of glam or just quick lashes, blush, and bronzer, I’m usually reaching for a liquid lipstick to finish off the look. Don’t get me wrong, I love good ole regular lipsticks too… but I’d be lying if I said liquid lipsticks weren’t currently my favorites and have been since I tried them. I don’t see myself swaying away from buying or wearing them for quite some time. Continue reading
