As the holidays start to approach I started thinking, where did this year go? Seriously, where did it go? How is Thanksgiving in five days?? Some days I feel like January just started… and now here we are in full blown holiday mode? Could time go any faster? I really wish there was some kind of magic button to stop time, or at the very least, sloooow it down some. When you’re a kid you think you have all the time in the world. You think time moves far too slow. Months seem like they’ll never come and years seem like it’s an eternity away. Of course, as you get older, you realize how precious time is. Time moves whether you want it to or not… and unfortunately there is no pause button, it will move regardless if we’re ready for it or not. That’s just life. Continue reading
As if the holidays aren’t stressful enough with trying to find the perfect gifts for family and friends, keeping your sanity throughout the entire process (leading up and especially on the actual holiday(s) itself gathered with family) money can get a little tight, and if you’re a shopper (like me) it can be challenging when you see all these new holiday collections releasing soon- right before the holidays. I was trying to think back to last year and I don’t think I was as eager and wanting many holiday goodies as I do this year. Ironic, because all my Christmas shopping was done very early and I had money to spare for whatever may have caught my eye. Fast forward to this year and I have NOTHING done or ordered as far as Christmas shopping goes… really, Jenn? I don’t know why I haven’t even started yet. I’ve tried looking online with certain family members in mind and always get distracted and do something else, or I’m drawing a blank on what to get people this year. Not only that… I’m seeing so many collections from brands I want. Everyone is coming out with such amazing things and I’m like, no, stop! Can we wait until AFTER Christmas? Either that or could you just not put out amazing products? Thanks. That would be perfect. Continue reading
I’ve been a fan of MAC Cosmetics for such a long time. They were probably one of, (if not THE one) higher end brands I started buying from when I transitioned away from drugstore makeup. I fell in love with their products immediately. For a period of time, MAC was the only makeup brand I was buying from. I loved the quality of the products, the way they performed, the packaging, everything! MAC was an addiction and shopping at the MAC store and counters was something I did pretty often. I got an email from Beautylish earlier saying the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips ‘Kim K.W.’ shade was back in stock. It’s their most popular shade (of course seeing as it’s inspired by Kim Kardashian and it’s the perfect nude shade she’s known for wearing.) I heard about this collection back when it first launched…but for whatever reason didn’t really pay that much attention to it. There are literally so many collections that have this and that coming out. Sometimes it gets hard to keep track of everything. For whatever reason, this one kinda slipped on past me. Since getting that email, though, I’ve been reading some reviews and watching some Youtube videos on this collection. I’ve got to be honest… I’m kind of interested in buying a couple of shades. I really have my eye on the nude/ neutral colors rather than the bright shades. I think the bright shades are just as pretty and I’m a big fan of bright lippies, but if I’m planning on trying one or two shades, I’m most likely going for the neutral colors. They’re speaking to me more than the brights.
While I think the colors look spectacular, I’m also drawn to the packaging. (of course) I think the rose gold tube the lipstick comes in, is very elegant and classy looking. It’s definitely eye catching and chic. I just imagine reaching into my handbag to touch up my lipstick and pulling this out, it would just look so fancy. I also really love the lipstick holder the above picture is showing with all the lippies lined up. I’m pretty sure the holder came if you bought all twelve shades on the Charlotte Tilbury site. Personally I think that would look gorgeous added to my makeup collection. 🙂 I’m not interested in buying all twelve shades so I’ll just have to admire it from afar. I think it would be nice if it could be bought separately, but I get the whole marketing aspect of it. ‘Hot Lips’ collection, the holder goes with the collection… still, would be nice.
The packaging is one thing- beautiful! Look at the lipsticks themselves! I love the shape of these lipsticks, apparently they’re shaped this way for the perfect precision when applying. How ideal! As you can imagine, I love the embossed lip print on the bullet. The lipstick definitely looks high end. I think it’s super gorgeous! I feel just carrying one of these around in your purse for an evening would make any girl feel classy and sexy.
The colors I’m most interested in trying would be:
- Kim K.W. – Pale nude beige pink
- Penelope – Nude pink
- Liv It Up – Rosebud pink
- Kidmans Kiss– Rose petal pink
All of the lipstick shades are named after celebrities that Charlotte Tilbury has worked with. They retail at $32.00 and can be purchased from Beautylish & CharlotteTilbury.com
I know this collection came out a while ago. Sometime over the summer, maybe July? I think I’m going to check out a few more reviews and see what others have to say before I decide… but I think this collection really looks pretty amazing. If nothing else, I’d like to add one or two of them to my collection for the elegance alone. I want them to be just as amazing in real life as they look in the pictures.
What do you guys think? Since this collection has been out for a while, have you tried it yet? What do you think of these lipsticks? How do they perform? Let me know!
Thanks for reading! 🙂

One of my favorite reality shows is back on again! It premiered on Monday and let me tell you, it sure didn’t disappoint. The show is on its fifth season and I’ve been watching it since the first season. I’m a big fan of the Housewives of BH, (and NJ- the only two shows I watch from that franchise) back then I started off watching it because it came on after RHOBH. They were a younger group of adults that I could relate to a little bit more than the ladies of The Real Housewives. I liked seeing their struggles of trying to make it in LA, working at SUR, waitressing, bartending, etc. Plus there was drama (c’mon, it’s reality tv… you need drama to keep viewers) there was lots of drama! Lately I’ve been loving chrome nails. I’m probably a little late on this trend, but you must understand how hard it is for me to give up my glitter designs. I am so obsessed with glitter and sparkling. (Just ask anyone that knows me)
I. need. my. glitter. I’ve been toying with the idea of chrome nails for a little while now. They’re literally all over the place if you take a look on Instagram. You’ve probably even seen some of your favorite Youtubers rocking them.
The processs of applying chrome was super easy! I don’t know what I expected… maybe something very difficult and time consuming? It was neither. Simply a polish and the chrome powder on top that was brushed on. One. Two. Three. That easy!
I have to admit, I’m pretty obsessed with these nails right now. They pick up different colors in certain light or with different movement. I always get a lot of compliments on my nails, I can just imagine how many I’ll get with these.
I don’t know why I waited so long to try chrome nails- (because glitter owns my soul) but I feel like I’ve been missing out… love love love!
